HOW THE EVENT WILL BE STRUCTURED: The event will comprise of a main 2-day conference (8th – 9th June) and an optional pre-conference Special Focus Day (7th June), devoted to “Exploring the Arctic: technical and operational challenges”.

Top-level executives from the key companies involved in Yamal’s oil and gas projects (including those that are yet to be developed, such as Kharasavey, Novaport, Rusan) will provide an update on exploration and field work progress to date. Key points for discussion will include identification of technical challenges and potential solutions, project timelines and production forecasts, tenders and supply policies, plans for the recruitment and training of specialists, and opportunities for suppliers and contractors. Key federal and local government decision-makers will provide an update on current policies for developing the Russian Arctic, licensing plans, legislation/regulation affecting the sector, and initiatives to attract investment. Project operators with experience of exploring and extracting resources in Arctic or Subarctic conditions will present Case Studies of specific projects to date, outlining the challenges faced, lessons learned and solutions found. Industry leaders from the key project operators, international companies and potential players in the Russian Arctic oil and gas sector, will debate some of the burning issues of the day. What are the next steps for the industry? What is the timeline for launching the most promising projects? What are the future opportunities for suppliers?
